Site information:

Section 8's woodland site is located at Dura Forest in Allanton - just outside Shotts, between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Postcode ML7 5AB.

Google Maps link.

7. Turn left at Craighall Road - go 0.0 mi
8. Turn right into the entry ramp to City of Edinburgh/Stirling/Carlisle - go 0.2 mi

13. Turn left at Motherwell Road - go 0.1 mi

21. Bear left at Allanton Road - go 0.3 mi
22. Turn right at Dura Road - go 0.2 mi
23. Follow Dura Road until you cross over a small bridge. There will be a ruined church on your right, and a red gate to your left.
Go through this gate and drive until you reach a turnoff on the left hand side, next to an open field. This is the safezone.

When parking, please attempt to leave room for cars to pass further into the site.

If you get lost, call 07974 026 517 and ask for Steve. If there is no answer, leave your number and you will be contacted as soon as possible.

By Public Transport:

First off in order to make it to the site early enough, you need to get into Glasgow city centre for 8:30.

Buchanan Bus Station:
get the City Link bus that runs Glasgow - Edinburgh (these are fairly frequent) getting a ticket to HARTHILL (only bout £3.50/£4.00). Get off bus at Harthill, its the first stop the bus will make once it starts on the motorway, its about 1/2 an hour down the road and is a by a dis-used "Little Chef". From Harthill cross the motorway bridge, and follow the road on the other side up through a small housing scheme till you get to a main road. From here you should see a "Spar" type shop and a newsagents. Welcome to the-middle-of-nowhere. From here call Sandy's Taxis on 01501 752184 or 07050168217. You have a better chance calling the mobile number. Explain you are going to the airsoft site out by Allanton and he'll run you up for £10. Sandy wont go up the dirt track, so walk up the path for 10 minutes and you cannot miss the safezone on the left at a fork in the road.

Leaving Glasgow on a bus before 9 gets you to the site for a bout 9:50/10:00 depending on how fast you walk up the wee hill. Total cost is £6.00 per person and the quickest way to Shotts on a Sunday without a lift.

Alternative taxi services:

McDonalds private Hire (Harthill)
01501 752416

AtoB taxis (Shotts)
01501 822228

Private Hire Taxi (Shotts)
01501 825555
